Moxi HD DVR gets some tasty upgrades CrunchGear (April 9, 2009)
“Digeo’s Moxi HD DVR…is getting a big software update that brings the sexy DVR up to speed with TiVo. Actually, these updates on paper make the Moxi box seem ahead of TiVo. Moxi’s calling card previously was a killer GUI and that hasn’t changed. Content on demand is being addressed this time around with PlayOn and DLNA support.”

Moxi Steps To TiVo, Adding Rhapsody Music and PlayOn for Netflix, Hulu and More
Gizmodo (April 9, 2009)
“Yeah, it's lightyears better than the boxes most cable operators willingly hand over to you, but TiVo has worked hard at both interface and expansion, mixing Netflix, Amazon VOD, Rhapsody and other services into its menu to make it that much more valuable. Moxi has taken the cue, and is piling on services too.”

If you're a cable TV subscriber, you owe it to yourself to consider Moxi as an alternative.Widescreen
Review (March/April Issues)

AskMen.com Reviews Moxi HD DVRAdam Weinberg (March 8, 2009)
"All of the normal DVR browsing features are included here, but MOXI has clearly put a lot of thought into its menu layout. For those who are frustrated with the clumsy operation of their cable DVR, MOXI operates with silky-smooth efficiency. Loaded up with high-definition graphics and even an Emmy to their name, the MOXI menu is full-screen, advertisement-free and super intuitive."

"Joy to Use" D. Allen
"Overall, the MOXI HD DVR has been a joy to use and provides a far superior picture quality than the Comcast HD receiver. That fact alone has me happy with the device, but the multi-stream HD DVR, absence of subscription costs, and ease of use of the MOXI makes it a product worth considering. I get to watch what I want and when I want to with a much better picture quality than provided by Comcast hardware without tacking on more costs to the ever rising price of having cable in the first place."
-
"Moxi A Clear Choice" Paul F. Sterbentz
"Let’s make one thing very clear: there is nothing else on the market right now that gives you high definition, hard drive recording from cable, has 2 QAM tuners, accepts a dual tuner cable card, provides a decent schedule/programming interface, has no reoccurring fees, and has first class customer support."
-
"Break Free of Monthly Charges" SteelerNW
"Moxi Interface - easy to use. Easy on the eyes. Makes sense.
Style - A much sleeker piece than its Comcast equivalent. Black box fits in - and the ability to turn off the Moxi light on front makes it fit in more.
All in all, I highly recommend the Moxi. It feels great to break free of the Comcast monthly box charges and have a piece that matches my other components."
-
"Top Notch Interface" Avital Gertner
"Moxi’s interface is well designed and there is no guess work in how to use it. The remote's layout is also well designed and the buttons are wide and easy to maneuver. It has great features - along with your ability to record your favorite TV shows and movies for later viewing (sans commercials), you can also use it for showcasing your home videos and photos, both from your hard drive or web based galleries (such as Flickr and YouTube)."
-
"A Great Choice" D. Ashliman
"I was initially reluctant to spend $800 on a DVR, but I am glad I did! Love ability to record two channels at the same time AND the ability to schedule a program via the internet. If you are traveling and forgot to set your Moxi, you can log into the MOXI website and schedule a program to record on your Moxi. SWEET!"

"Once You Go Moxi, You'll Never Watch TV Any Other Way" By PeakLover
"I am absolutely delighted to once again have a Moxi DVR. Comcast had stopped supporting the Moxi several months ago, and I did not like their chosen replacement at all. Once you go Moxi, you'll never want to watch TV any other way. The feature I like most about the Moxi DVRs include: Extremely easy to navigate through the menu. Also able to watch live TV while navigating."
-
"Is Comcast A Little Jealous?" Cypherstream
"Wow, this box looks amazing. Just read all of the features and looked over the screen caps over at moxi.com I see it on Amazon.com for $799 and Digeo claims there are no service fees like TiVo does. Look at all the features! It blows away my Comcast DCH-3416 DVR! If Comcast's own guide was as beautiful and had so many features like this new Moxi, I wouldn't think about FiOS if I could. How can Comcast or Macrovision/GuideWorks look at that interface and not get a little jealous? I know if I created a product and my competitor came out with a much nicer one, I would be a little jealous and maybe more compelled to try and beat them at their game."
-
"Tired Of TiVo's Interface?" MC
"For someone who wants an alternative to TiVo's tired UI I recommend Moxi wholeheartedly."
-
"Way Better Than TiVo In Appearance" MickeS
"The UI seems really nice-looking, way better than TiVoHD in appearance. For example, ever since the Series 3 was released there has been discussion about how TiVo is wasting real estate. I have no idea whether [the "Now Playing" list] works better than TiVo or not, but that screenshot presents a lot more info on one screen than what the equivalent "Now Playing" on a TiVo does. That TiVo STILL does not take advantage of HD and 16:9 in its menus is disappointing."
-
"Looking Forward To A Responsive, Slick Interface" Bender
"Yeah, the UI is really great! I think this is going to be a pretty good product. I love that you can just plug an external drive into it, and I'm really looking forward to a responsive, slick interface."
-
"MOXI Is Cooler And Has More Going For It" MacGyver
"I saw the MOXI at CEDIA, it is pretty cool. It does a lot of stuff and the user interface is really good. Watching the way it goes thru the menus is impressive. We then walked around the isle and TiVo was showing their new stuff, which was very close to the MOXI. Although, without spending any significant time with either one, my initial impression was that the MOXI was cooler and had more going for it."
